Live Free or Dine- The Saga Continues 05.18.2020 0730 JAS

As restaurants begin receiving the green light by county officials to open up for dine-in service, others will likely remain closed.

In an interview with KSCO, Ted Burke, former head of the California Restaurants Association, shares more about why restaurants such as his might remain keeping its doors closed for now.

“We have put the pencil to the paper several times to analyze that we would lose less money staying closed rather than opening under the restrictions that they [Health Officers] have.”

Burke mentions the fact that bars will remain closed to the public, and that it’s a “knife in the back here” for the prospect of reopening the fine dining establishment.

Additionally, Burke anticipates the Shadowbrook restaurant will not open up until he can fill up to 75-percent of his tables in the social distancing age.
