A public meeting is set to be held on Monday in Santa Cruz, to examine several options for cutting library budgets in the county. The Santa Cruz Library Joint Powers Board will consider 4 proposals, which contain varying plans to close certain branches and reduce hours at others. Furloughs and other cuts are also on the table, as the Santa Cruz County library system faces a projected shortfall of several million dollars over the next few years. The public meeting is scheduled to be held at 6:30pm, at the Santa Cruz City Council Chambers, which is located at 809 Center Street.
