Salinas-based River ranch fresh foods has announced a voluntary recall of bagged iceberg lettuce. The lettuce was sold under the brand names river ranch, farm stand, hy-vee, marketside, shurfresh, the farmer’s market, cross valley, fresh ‘n’ easy, promark, and sysco. The iceberg lettuce has been pulled from store shelves in California and Colorado, however anyone with bagged iceberg from river ranch fresh foods is encouraged to contact the company if they have concerns. No illnesses have been reported in connection with the recall, which was initiated after traces of listeria were detected.
