A lawsuit was filed by representatives for the city of Greenfield last week, against the monterey county elections department. Greenfield city leaders are seeking to have a referendum removed from the june 5th ballot, which would ask voters to decide if the city should merge its police department with soledad’s police department. The referendum did receive enough signatures to appear on the ballot, however city leaders have argued that the matter is not eligible to be decided in such a way.
