Union representatives for some employees of Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System are planning to file a lawsuit against the hospital. The union announced this weekend that the lawsuit alleges that hospital administrators refused to negotiate with the union, regarding layoffs of more than 1-hundred employees. The union also accuses hospital administrators of not giving the required 60-days-notice for the layoffs, which are due to go into effect on December 30th. The planned lawsuit follows a filing of a complaint with the state Public Employment Relations Board last week.
