The five publicly-traded companies headquartered in Santa Cruz County would be required to add a woman to their boards under a proposal now on Governor Jerry Brown’s desk awaiting signature.
The five companies are Plantronics, Santa Cruz County Bank, Granite Construction, Lighthouse Bank and Fox Factory Holding Corp.
Senate Bill 826 seeks to diversify corporate boards and increase the number of woman on the boards. Back in 2013, the state passed a law that called up boards to increase the representation of women. That law was a request, while the proposal on Governor Brown’s desk would require companies to requires at least one women to their boards.
