AN ESTIMATED 25 FEET OF BEACH COLLASPED WHEN THE APTOS CREEK
LAGOON BREACHED AT RIO DEL MAR BEACH ON THURSDAY. A SMALL
BOY WAS SWEPT INTO THE OCEAN BY THE WATER, BUT WAS QUICKLY
RESCUED BY A BYSTANDER. ALTHOUGH SCARED AND COLD, THE BOY
WAS UNINJURED. WHILE THE BREACH MAY HAVE OCCURRED
NATURALLY, PARK RANGERS BLOCKED OFF THE AREA AND ATTEMPTED
TO KEEP BEACH-GOERS FROM DIGGING AROUND THE LAGOON AS A
PRECAUTION.
