A WATSONVILLE MAN WAS HOSPITALIZED FOLLOWING AN ARMED ROBBERY LAST NIGHT (SUN). OFFICIALS SAY TWO SUSPECTS ENTERED LA TIENDITA MARKET ON THE 600 BLOCK OF RODRIGUEZ STREET AROUND 9. THE TWO MEN ASSAULTED THE STORE’S CLERK WITH A BAT BEFORE TAKING AN UNDISCLOSED AMOUNT OF CASH. ARRIVING OFFICERS FOUND THE 32-YEAR OLD VICTIM WITH HEAD INJURIES. HE WAS TRANSPORTED TO A BAY AREA TRAUMA CENTER FOR TREATMENT. THE SUSPECTS HAVE BEEN DESCRIBED AS HISPANIC, THIN, IN THEIR LATE TEENS TO EARLY TWENTIES, AND AROUND 5’5”. ANYONE WITH INFORMATION IS URGED TO CONTACT THE WATSONVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT.
