the fate of the la bahia hotel project is set to be decided today by the coastal commission. the coastal commission is slated to vote on an amendment to the city of santa cruz’s local coastal plan to allow for the demolition of the 125-room beach street hotel, and for the construction of a 154-thousand square foot new hotel. the coastal commission’s meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m. at the watsonville city council chambers.
