On Saturday morning, King City Police officers arrested a known gang-member, who is accused of assaulting a teenager on Friday afternoon. The incident occurred at 5:30 p.m., on the 500-block of North 3rd-Street, when the suspect, Oscar Nunez, confronted the victim about graffiti that had been scrawled at a nearby apartment complex. During the confrontation, Nunez allegedly hit the teen in the head with something metal. At 3:30 a.m. Saturday, officers served a search warrant at Nunez’s residence. They allegedly found a loaded handgun, along with ammunition. Police say Nunez is a known Sureno gang member, and he was booked into Monterey County Jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, and gang-enhancements.
