A 24-year-old man who was on parole was arrested in King City early Saturday morning, after leading Monterey County Sheriff’s Deputies on a brief foot chase. A sheriff’s spokesman says Michael Benavides was taken into custody after deputies tried to pull him over on Meadowbrook Drive for a vehicle code violation. He fled on foot, and was tazed by deputies. While being arrested, Benavides allegedly kicked a deputy, and made death threats. He was found to be on parole, and was taken into custody.
