This is a black woman’s view of the recent election. Ann Wortham is an Associate Professor of Sociology at Illinois State University, and a continuing visiting scholar at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution. In the fall of 1988, she was featured in Bill Moyer’s television series ?A World of Ideas?. In 2004, she was finally awarded tenure. Kudos to you Mr. Gene Sandon for sharing this gem with us. Fellow Americans, please know I am black. I grew up in the segregated south. I did not vote for Barack Obama. I wrote in Ron Paul’s name as my choice for President. I do not require a black President, to know that I am a person of worth. I cannot join you in your celebration. I feel no elation. There is no smile on my face. There are no tears of triumph in my eyes. For such emotions and behavior to come from me, I would have to deny all that I know about American race relations, and all that I know about Barack Obama as a politician. I would have to deny the nature of the Change that Obama asserts has come to America.I would have to evade your rejection of the slender stem of capitalism on which your success and mine depend. I would have to think it rational that 94% of the 12 million blacks in this Country voted for a man because he looks like them, and that they were joined by progressive whites who voted for him because he does not look like them. I would have to wipe my mind clear of all that I know about the kind of people who have advised and taught Barack Obama and will fill posts in his administration ? political intellectuals like my former colleagues at the Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. I would have to accept the premise of a man that economic prosperity comes from the ?bottom up? and who arrogantly believes that he can will it into existence by the use of government force, or socialism. I would have to admire a man who thinks the standard of living of the masses can be improved by destroying the most productive and the generators of wealth (that’s capitalism). Finally, Americans, I would have to erase the scene of 125,000 screaming, crying, cheering people in Grant Park, Chicago, chanting ?Yes we can. So, you have made history, Americans. You and your children have elected a black man to the office of the President of the United States. The self-righteous in the suburbs can feel warm satisfaction for having elected a black person.You have elected not an individual who is qualified to be President, but a black man who promises to do something, but you have also foolishly traded your freedom ? and mine ? what little there is left, for the chances to feel good.There is nothing in me that can share your happy obliviousness. Here is Kay Zwerling.The following is an actual question given on University of Washington chemistry mid-term. The answer by one student was so profound that the professor shared it with colleagues via the Internet, which is why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well. Thank you ?Z. E. The bonus question- ?Is Hell exothermic giving off heat or endothermic absorbing heat? Most of the students wrote proofs, of their beliefs, using Boils Law. That is: gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed. Or some variant. One student however wrote the following. First we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which they are leaving. I think we can safely assume that once a soul gets into Hell, it will not leave. Therefore no souls are leaving. As to how many souls are entering Hell, let’s look at the different religions that exist in the world today. Most of these religions state that if you?re not a member of their religion then you will go to Hell. Since there is more than one of these religions, and since people do not belong to more than one religion, We can project that ALL souls will go to Hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect that the number of souls in Hell will increase exponentially. Now? we look at the rate of change in the volume of Hell, because Boils Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same the volume of Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are added. This gives two possibilities. 1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose! 2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over. Which is it? If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my freshman year that (quote) ?it will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you? (unquote), and take into account that I slept with her last night, then number two must to true and thus I?m sure that Hell must be exothermic and has already frozen over. The corollary of this theory is that since Hell has frozen over it follows that it is not accepting Any more souls and is therefore extinct?leaving only Heaven! Hereafter I will search carefully the authenticity of material sent to me. President Obama did not arrange for thousands of displaced Palestinians to come to the U.S. Thank goodness!The $20 million (plus) requested by the U.N. was sent to help the displaced Palestinians to build homes lost during the recent Israeli-Palestinian war.The world media chooses to ignore the fact that Hamas since ruling Gaza for the last two years has daily sent exploding bombs into Southern Israel. The recent cease fire lasted only days, and now Hamas has already broken the agreement, and is sending bombs again and again into Israel. The reason for so many Arab casualties during war is because Hamas, Hezbollah, and all other Arab terrorists routinely use Palestinian women and children as human shields, especially at schools and hospitals, to run up their casualties and receive world pity. These cowardly despicable skunks consider their own people irrelevant, and they fight dirty. For the past 60 years, those Arabs refuse to have a State of their own ? they only want Israel dead. So, the stalemate goes on, and the world chooses to blame Israel ? who merely wants to exist in peace.Did you know that when Palestinian leaders become ill, they always ask to be admitted into Israeli hospitals, and they are always accepted. Because we are all bummed out and depressed for various reasons, not the least of which we are quickly sliding into socialism, let’s end this on a happier note with the following funny observations written by a black man with a great sense of humor and creativity. Here goes: When I was born, I was black. When I grew up, I was black. When I went in the sun, I stayed black. When I got cold, I was black. When I was scared, I was black. When I was sick, I was black. And when I die, I will still be black. Now, you white folks ? when you are born, you are pink. When you grow up, you are white. When you go in the sun, you get red. When you are cold, you turn blue. When you get scared, you are yellow. When you get sick, you are green. When you bruise, you turn purple. When you die, you look grey. Here is Kay Zwerling.If President Obama is able to pull off this quiet outrageous Executive Order without being challenged or stopped by the Immigration Department, then it will also be possible for him to ignore Congress totally and rule by Executive Order only.Kudos to you Zoltan for alerting us. Also, by breaking his promise to let the people scrutinize the enormous stimulus bill for five days before signing it himself, he has destroyed his credibility. The following is: Obama’s Executive Order ? subject: Hamas is coming to the USA on your money. This information compiled by Dr. Paul L. Williams was posted on Saturday, February 7, 2009, at 11:40 a.m., by New Media Journal.By Executive Order, President Barack Obama has ordered the expenditure of $20 million (plus) in immigration assistance to the Palestinian refugees and conflict victims in Gaza. The ?Presidential determination? which allows hundreds of thousands of Palestinians with ties to Hamas to resettle in the United States, was signed on January 27, and appeared in the Federal Register on February 4. President Obama’s decision according to the Register was necessitated by ?The urgent refugee and migration needs of the victims?. I say, what about the urgent need of our poor and our veterans in our Country? Here is Kay Zwerling.Madame House Speaker Nancy Pelosi may have been rightfully outraged along with the rest of us when those CEO’s of auto manufacturers came to Washington DC recently in their private jets and then had the gall to ask for public help for their troubled companies. On the other hand, Madame Pelosi was not happy with the small private jet that comes with the Speaker’s own job. Some Speakers accept the jet, and others like Newt Gingrich did not. Pelosi was aggravated because this little jet had to stop to refuel, so instead she ordered a big fat 200-seat jet that could get her back home to California every week without stopping. In these bad times, what is wrong with her taking a First Class nonstop flight in a commercial jet? Both planes land in the same airport in San Francisco. Since she only works three days a week, this gas guzzling jet gets fueled and she flies home to California at the cost of $60,000 one way. As Joe puts it ? and Joe must be loose mouth VP Joe Biden ? ?Unfortunately we must pay to bring her back on Monday night. The cost to We the People is another $60,000. That means $120,000 per week to transfer Nancy from home to work. Folks ? that is $480,000 per month, and times 12, it is $5,760,000 per year for Madame Pelosi ? the leader of the most do-nothing Congress in the history of our Country. Nancy asks you and me to conserve our carbon footprints, and wants the rest of us to buy small cars and ride bicycles. Is she really worth it? She also gets a hefty salary, a hefty pension, and special health insurance that you and I do not have access to. Notice how difficult it has been for some of Obama’s Cabinet and Congress to remember to pay their own private income taxes, but so easy for them to plan to plan to spend billions (with a B) as we speak ? billions which we do not have, which we must print, and which our new leaders cannot promise will do our Country any good. Here is Kay Zwerling.This is an encore commentary on political correctness, which I recorded and read on KSCO exactly four years ago. It was sent to me by a Scottish friend from Scotland ? written by a very bright, author unknown. I truly believe that political correctness has been and continues to be the most paramount destructive factor in the moral deterioration in our world today. It creates a sick society which along with socialism has rendered all of Europe impotent and irrelevant as a world contributor. It is called ?Obituary Notice?. Common Sense died 24/7/365 in North America’s heart, USA. Today, we are mourning the passing of a beloved old friend by the name of Common Sense, who had been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was. His birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm, and that life is not always fair. Common Sense lived by simple sound financial policies, like do not spend more than you earn, and reliable parenting strategies, like adults not kids are in charge. His health began to rapidly deteriorate when well-intentioned but overbearing political regulations were set in place. For example, reports of a six-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate, teens suspended from schools for using mouthwash after lunch, and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer aspirin to a student; however, the schools did not have to inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion. Finally, Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband, churches became businesses, and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense finally gave up the ghost after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot, spilled a bit on her lap, claimed McDonald’s did not warn her and then was rewarded a huge settlement. Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust, his wife Discretion, his daughter Responsibility, and his son Reason. He is survived, however, by two step-children, U. A. Victim, and Ima Whiner.Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing. It is now clear that President Obama’s campaign promises of hope and change were merely his hope that we the moderates and conservatives would quietly agree with his vision of change into a large government socialist society. That will happen when Hell freezes over. One day after the Inauguration, a British view from the London Daily Mail said it so eloquently, and it is called ?The Obama Victory? ? listen ? A victory for the hysterical Oprah Winfrey, the mad racial preacher Jeremiah Wright, the mainstream media who abandoned any sense of objectivity long ago, and Europeans who despise America largely because they depend on her. A victory for Obama worshipers everywhere. A victory for the cult of the cult. A man who has done little with his life, but has written about his achievements as if he had found the cure for cancer. Victory for style over substance, hyperbole over history, rabble-raising over reality. The Obama victory for Hollywood, the most dysfunctional community in the world. Victory for Steisand, Spielberg, Soros, and Serandon. Victory for those who prefer Welfare to will and interference to independence. For those who settle for group think and herd mentality rather than those who fight for individual initiative and the right to be out of step with meager political fashion. Victory for a man who is no friend of freedom. He and his people have already stated that media has to be controlled so as to be balanced without realizing the extraordinary irony within that statement. Like most liberal zealots, the Obama worshipers constantly speak of Fox and Limbaugh when the vast bulk of television stations and newspapers are drastically liberal and anti-conservative. Senior Democrat Chuck Schumer said that just as pornography should be censored, so should talk radio, in other words one of the few free and open means of popular expression may well be cornered and beaten by bullies who even in triumph cannot tolerate any criticism and opposition. Of course, we?re talking about the Fairness Doctrine, which is not fair. A victory for those who believe the State is better qualified to raise children than the family, for those who prefer Teachers? Unions to teaching for those who are naively convinced that if the west is sufficiently weak toward its enemies, war and terror will dissolve. Isn?t that idiotic?An Obama victory is for social democracy, otherwise known as socialism. Even after most of Europe has come to the painful conclusion that social democracy leads to mediocrity, failure, unemployment, inflation, higher taxes, and economic stagnation. And finally, an Obama victory is for intrusive lawyers banal sentimentalists, social extremists, and urban snobs. Congratulations America ? God help you.
