The following is a KSCO commentary. Here is Kay Zwerling:

Philosophically, we humans grasp at inventing illogical expressions when we are uncomfortable with our own prejudices.

Case in point – let us examine the expression "occupied territory", which came into vogue only after the State of Israel was legally created in 1948.

The British who owned the territory offered land also to the Palestinians. They declined and continue to decline. They want Israel annihilated.

Immediately after Israel became a State, five Arab countries in the Middle East declared war on the new Jewish State – they were all defeated in a matter of days by the little new Country. That is when the expression "occupied territory" or "occupied land" came into being.

Israel the victor was and is the true owner of the conquered land – but the U.S. government called that land "occupied". Is that supposed to mean that the aggressors still owned that land?

Another opposite case in point – during the Mexican-American War in 1846 through 1848, the U.S. invaded a part of Mexico known as Texas, which Mexico had received from Spain along with other land in the Southwest. The U.S. won the war, took Texas and the other States in the Southwest, and California. It is said that Mexico was given a token $500 million for all that land. The Mexicans have been resentful and angry since then. They want their land back, but that will never happen. Shouldn’t that conquered Mexican land also be considered occupied land?

Fast forward to the present situation.

Jordan, a country which owned East Jerusalem in 1948, wanted all of Jerusalem shortly thereafter, so she declared war on Israel. She lost, so now Israel owns that territory. The U.S. maintains it is occupied land, and Obama forbids Israel to build houses there – even high-rise apartments for its burgeoning citizenship.

Prime Minister Netanyahu of Israel has told Obama he cannot dictate to Israel about Israeli land – and therein lies the stalemate between the two democracies. I say kudos to Netanyahu for not allowing the U.S. to bully Israel.

Meanwhile, the despicable U.S. media picks and chooses what it wants to expose, and never mentions that Israel won all that land.

It is all unfair, unjust, untrue, and Israel stands totally on its own.

Please – someone – explain the nonsensical expression "occupied land" or "occupied territory", which is only used for territory won fair and square by the Jewish State of Israel after it is attacked. It is an honest issue our government refuses to recognize.

The following is a KSCO commentary. Here is Kay Zwerling:

This bewilders me that I have lived so long, but never heard of the Paradoxical Commandments until recently when my friend Marcia told me about them.

Here’s the story – evidently the Paradoxical Commandments were written by an 18-year-old named Kent Keith, a freshman at Harvard in 1968. He is probably 60 years old now. The Commandments were later found posted on Mother Teresa’s wall in India.

One wonders how an 18-year-old could have the wisdom and depth of understanding of human nature to be so right-on and so humanly generous as Kent Keith had to be to come up with those mature thoughts. It is like finding meaning in a crazy world, and how many of us humans achieve such wisdom? I wonder, also, how can an 18-year-old have become so disenchanted so early in his life? That is a paradox, too. And, maybe there was a little bit of paranoia in him, also.

Here are the Paradoxical Commandments:

People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered – Love them anyway.
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives – Do good anyway.
If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies – Succeed anyway.
The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow – Do good anyway.
Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable – Be honest and frank anyway.
The biggest men and women with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest men and women with the smallest minds – Think big anyway.
People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs – Fight for a few underdogs anyway.
What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight – Build anyway.
People really need help but may attack you if you do help them – Help people anyway.
And finally –
Give the world the best you have and you'll get kicked in the teeth – Give the world the best you have anyway.

So much for the Paradoxical Commandments.

There is another little gem that I think fits in here because of the strength of its honest unsolicited loving kindness.

At the heart of medicine, we find soul medicine.

I once met a Jewish patient who happened to be a medical doctor. He told me how he practiced medicine.

He said "Whenever a patient would come to me, before I would do any examination, I would place my hand on the patient’s shoulder and say ‘I offer you Racamonos’."

Racamonos is a Yiddish word which means loving kindness or compassion. It occurred to me that loving kindness is the primary medicine, the first medicine that we can offer. It is soul medicine. To offer loving kindness to our patients and clients verbally and nonverbally supports the atmosphere for every other service we do. Loving kindness creates hospitality and welcome. It creates comfort and safety. Loving kindness offers a relationship in humility; it encourages receptivity and openness for the wellbeing of those who serve. Loving kindness softens and opens the heart of the one who offers it. I thanked the Jewish doctor for the gift of his words to me. May the soul medicine of Racamonos be a healing bomb in your heart.

And, this was quoted from Dominican Hospital Scanner in July 2004

The following is a KSCO commentary. Here is Kay Zwerling:

This may be the most critical week our Country has ever experienced – if Congress finally votes on the future of government-controlled universal healthcare. Obama is fully aware that most Americans reject this Bill – but he wants it so he can usher in socialism and discard free enterprise. The weekly conservative Human Events condenses his agenda this way, while I also include my own concern.

Is this our last chance to take back America?

Dear fellow conservatives,

I am not a person given to dire predictions, but when I say the next several months leading up to 2010 elections may be our last chance to save America from socialism, I am not exaggerating.

You see, right now Barack Obama is desperate, and that makes him dangerous. Sensing that his window of opportunity for "fundamentally transforming" America will slam shut in November, he is rushing to ram through the most radical parts of his agenda by any means necessary.

First on his list is the government takeover of our healthcare system that the American people have made clear that they Do Not Want.

Next is Cap & Trade climate legislation that would drive up the cost of energy use for businesses and homes costing millions of jobs, crippling our economy, and relinquishing American competitiveness to other nations like China for decades to come. Obama is deliberately trying to destroy our beloved Country as we know it.

Then, there is the amnesty and open borders immigration "reform" Bill that Obama has just signaled he wants to put back on the fast track because he knows it will be unpassable after the midterm elections. We now have over 30 million illegals here and Obama does not admit that they are included in our healthcare monstrosity, which will surely bankrupt us.

Indeed, because of the unpopularity of these Bills – and of other radical initiatives such as closing Gitmo – Obama is pushing to enact them now before he loses political power.

And, if he succeeds, this Country will never ever be the same.

That is why it is so important that we conservatives seize the momentum that we have gained in recent months and act now to take back America from those who would destroy us… before it is too late.

P.S. – Last summer, our local Representative Sam Farr on this topic of universal healthcare, during his local hearings announced numerous times that he plans to vote in favor of this despicable Bill whether we the people like it or not. If he votes for it, we must vote him out of office because he will be voting against free enterprise and for socialism, and against the wishes of those he represents.

Friends, please listen – our Country is in grave danger now. If this Bill passes, Obama will not stop until Washington governs every major business in America, sets all our salaries, and controls every aspect of our lives.

The following is a KSCO commentary. Here is Kay Zwerling:

Breaking news: Suicide bombers in Britain are set to begin a three-day strike shortly.

They are in dispute over the number of virgins they are entitled to in the Afterlife. Emergency talks with Al Quaida management have so far failed to produce any agreement.

The unrest began last week when Al Quaida announced that the number of virgins a suicide bomber would receive after his death would be cut by 25% this month, from 72 to only 60. The rationale for the cut was the increase in recent years of the number of suicide bombings and a subsequent shortage of virgins in the Afterlife.

The Suicide Bombers Union, the British Organization of Occupational Martyrs (B.O.O.M.) responded with a statement that this was unacceptable to its members and immediately balloted for strike action.

General Secretary Abdul Amir told the press, "Our members are literally working themselves to death in the cause of Jihad. We do not ask for much in return but to be treated like this by management is a kick in the teeth."

Mr. Amir accepted the limited availability of virgins, but pointed out that the cutback was expected to be borne entirely by the workforce and not by the management.

Last Christmas Abu Hanza alone was awarded an annual bonus of 250,000 virgins complained Amir, and you can be sure they will all be pretty ones, too. How can Al Quaida afford that for members of the management, but not 72 for the people who do the real work?

Al Quaida Chief Executive Osama Bin Laden explained "We sympathize with our workers’ concerns, but Al Quaida is simply not in the position to meet their demands. Thanks to western depravity, there is now a chronic shortage of virgins in the Afterlife. I do not like cutting wages, but I would hate to have to tell 3000 of my staff that they will not be able to blow themselves up."

Bin Laden defended management bonuses by claiming these were necessary to attract good fanatical clerics. "How am I supposed to attract the best people if I cannot compete with the private sector?"

Talks broke down this morning after management’s last ditch proposal of a virgin-sharing scheme which was rejected outright after a failure to agree on allocation quotas. Certain virgins sign up to be available in the Afterlife to accommodate the honored suicide bombers. One virgin who refused to be named was quoted as saying "I will be compromised if I am agreeing to anything like that…. It is just too much to swallow."

Unless some sort of agreement is reached, suicide bombers will stop the explosives shortly.

The entire Australian continent stated that this situation would not affect their operations because there are no virgins in that area anyway.

Late news: Apparently the drop in the number of suicide bombings has been put down to the emergence of Susan Boyle – and now that bombers know what a virgin looks like, they are not so keen to go to Paradise.

The following is a KSCO commentary. Here is Kay Zwerling:

Congressional Republicans may resurrect Obamacare from the dead. You heard that right. Republicans in Congress may actually fall for a political trap being set by Barack Obama designed to breathe new life into Obamacare. That is why it is imperative that we take decisive and immediate action to stop them. Many conservatives are sending messages and emails to their representatives to make sure to be aware and not fall for Obama’s traps.

President Obama said recently that he would convene a half day bipartisan healthcare session at the White House to be televised live this month. The day is already set for next Thursday, February 25. Obamacare is dead, but he will trick the Republican leaders to help him revive it.

Radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh read the handwriting on the wall perfectly. He also called Obama’s invitation a trap, an attempt by the President to portray Republicans as the party of No, and that is the characterization that many Republican legislators do not like.

I feel differently about that. I have no problem with remaining the party of No as long as our President spends money recklessly, and make immature and destructive decisions, and refuse to listen to the wishes of The People. I think it is important to say No to an Administration that by its actions this past year have lost the confidence of both conservatives and many liberals, also.

Too bad Obama’s enormous ego always gets in the way of sensible logic.

Make no mistake – Obama is not calling this televised meeting to listen to opposing ideas or to make a real effort to reform healthcare. When asked by Katie Couric if he would agree to discard the current Bill rejected by most citizens, and start over, the President said No he would not.

I say the Republicans should not attend the White House meeting unless a totally new bipartisan realistic Bill could be discussed.

The Washington Post reported that Obama does not plan to scrap months of legislative effort on the issue, and he plans to come to the Summit armed with the same old Democratic Bill.

So, it is nothing more than an underhanded attempt to play to the weakness that Republicans have exhibited time and again, a tactic that could turn his Obamacare defeat into a victory.

Indeed, Republicans should stay far away from this bogus Summit.

The following is a KSCO commentary. Here is Kay Zwerling:

This is another little gem from listener Gene Sanden. It is called "God is busy". If you do not know God, do not make stupid remarks.

A United States Marine was attending some college courses between assignments. He had complete missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. One of the courses had a professor who was an avowed atheist and member of ACLU. One day the professor shocked the class when he came in. He looked to the ceiling and flatly stated "God, if You are real, then I want You to knock me off this platform. I will give You exactly 15 minutes." The lecture room fell silent. You could hear a pin drop. Ten minutes went by, and the professor proclaimed "Here I am, God. I am still waiting."

It got down to the last couple minutes, when the Marine got out of his chair, went up to the professor, and coldcocked him, knocking him off the platform. The professor was out cold. The Marine went back to his seat, and sat there silently. The other students were shocked, stunned, and sat there looking on in silence.

The professor eventually came to, noticeably shaken, looked at the Marine and asked "What in the world is the matter with you? Why did you do that?" The Marine calmly replied "God was too busy today protecting American soldiers who are protecting you and your right to say stupid stuff and act like an idiot. So, He sent me."

The classroom erupted in cheers.

This is good. Keep it going. Amen.

Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly. Now go in peace, and serve the Lord.

The following is a KSCO commentary. Here is Kay Zwerling:

We in California are about to confirm whether we have Statesmen for Senators or just lowbrow politicians.

Kudos to my very intelligent friend Andy Anderson who asked that this timely topic be discussed, and contributed significantly to this commentary.

Let’s take a moment and look back at what our Founding Fathers said about U.S. Senators. Our Founders stated clearly that the States were to remain sovereign, and that the Federal Government was to play a smaller role in the States’ affairs. They knew what a big central government would do with the power. They established that the Senators from each State will be appointed by the legislature of each State, thus assume their loyalty to the State. The Senators’ proper role was to go to Washington D.C. and protect their States’ security and sovereignty foremost from the abuses of federal authority. They were not to be seduced or threatened by influences originating out of Washington. If they failed in this rule, they were replaced.

In 1913, a federal onslaught took place in our Country. Federal Reserve banking was established, the Internal Revenue Service was created, and our Senators were voted into office by popular vote. Just ask yourself – what have our Senators done lately to protect California’s sovereignty and security from an overreaching federal government, which has become paramount and the States have become subservient, and our Forefathers opposed and predicted that situation?

Now come Senators Feinstein and Boxer. Senators – are you going ignore our government’s appeal to vote no on this universal healthcare Bill because it would add billions more to our State’s debt? If you vote yes, it will be clear that you are not the least bit interested in the sovereignty, security, and wellbeing of the citizens of California. So, we shall soon see whether or not you are just two more lowbrow politicians we sent back to Washington at our expense.

My afterthoughts:

It is time for Feinstein and Boxer to be voted out! They have served too long, are too entrenched, and it is time for two fresh new Senators who will listen to The People of California. The same goes for Representative Sam Farr, who during local hearings on this healthcare last summer did let We the People speak, but prefaced every speaker with his own remark by stating "I’m voting for it." He doesn’t get it either. He is supposed to represent us, The People, not himself.

So much for term limits, a topic most Senators would rather never discuss. They like to make a lifetime career out of serving as Senators. They give themselves excellent salaries plus superior healthcare, much better than what they are planning for the rest of us, they have probably a car, an office, and no doubt other perks, and they voted themselves several years ago pensions for themselves and pensions for their spouses, which was totally unacceptable and inappropriate, and no doubt those pensions still exist.

With such an interesting and lucrative job, why would any Congressperson want term limits? And why do We the People allow our Congress to set their own salaries. We should have a citizens committee for that chore.

The following is a KSCO commentary. Here is Kay Zwerling:

Thank you Gene Sanden for this timely prayer from the heart. I changed the end to acknowledge Almighty God. Because I am Jewish, I believe there is only one God; however, I still love Jesus, a very special human, because he taught the world about love, to love one another. Such wisdom, and if we listened, the world would be a better place.

And now the prayer.

Lord, I just want to say thank you because this morning I woke up and knew where my children were; because this morning my home was still standing; because this morning I am not crying because my child, my brother or sister needs to be removed from underneath a pile of concrete; because this morning I was able to drink a glass of water; because this morning I was able to turn on the lights; because this morning I was able to take a shower; because this morning I was not planning a funeral, but most of all I thank you this morning because I still have life and a voice to cry out for the people of Haiti.

Lord, I cry out to You, the One who makes the impossible possible; the One who turns darkness into light; I cry out that You give those mothers strength; that You give them peace that surpasses all understanding; that You may open the streets so that help can come quickly; that You may provide doctors, nurses, food, water, and all that they need in the blink of an eye. For all those who have lost family members, give them peace, give them hope, and give them courage, and continue to go on. Protect the children and shield them with Your power. I pray all this Almighty

God in Your name.

And now, also from Gene, this interesting suggestion:

It is an idea for Haiti’s government. I heard on the news that Haiti is without a government. To help them out, let us donate to them Obama, one Pelosi, one Reid, one Frank, one Coakley, and two Clintons. They can keep them permanently. We can give them a Constitution, but we cannot find it easily right now. Now, isn’t that a great idea?

P.S. – About my recent mention of another Court case, re the Obama birth certificate, it was dismissed. It was an old story. Sorry. My mistake. Mia Culpa.

However, along with many other Americans, why do I have this lingering feeling that this story is not yet finished?
