Here is Kay Zwerling: The practice of Congressional earmarks has been a rotten and sneaky action condoned and used by many if not most members of Congress who were voted into office by their constituents who thought or hoped that their candidate was looking after their interests and had pledged to spend our money wisely. If you believe that, I have a bridge in Brooklyn I?d love to sell you. And, by the way, whenever Hillary talks about the importance of experience in being a lawmaker, she means learning the ropes, like about earmarks. I just received a letter from Steve Elliot, President of Grassfire.org Alliance, of which I?m a member, and the title of the letter is ?No More Pork Spending?, and it tells it well, so listen: ?Dear Kay, The Omnibus Spending Bill pushed through Congress last December gutted the Security Fence Act, but left intact were thousands of earmarks that directed hundreds of millions of tax dollars to pet projects and preferred supporters all without public debate or even a vote in Congress.Outrageously, just two months into the new year, lawmakers have already begun soliciting earmark requests for 2008.Kay, earmarks have become a symbol of the culture of the widespread corruption on Capitol Hill, and as a valued Grassfire team member, I?m asking you to join with me right now by signing our petition calling for an end to earmarks. 2007 was a banner year for pork. Citizens Against Government Waste reported the taxpayers have funded 2,658 so-called pork projects for a whopping $13 Billion (with a B). Listen to some of the following: 1. $1 million for Hillary Clinton’s hippie museum in New York honoring the events of Woodstock. Who cares? $6 million to research new uses for wood.$1.3 million to Raleigh, North Carolina, to build a year-round climate-controlled park carousel.In each instance, Congress did not debate them in the open, and there was never even a public vote. Is it any wonder why Americans do not trust our elected leaders?We have only 30 days to make an impact.Kay, the corrupting influence of earmarks have boiled over, and I?m relying on members of our team to help me rally 100,000 citizens who are standing with me and demanding an end to earmarks.Here is what we are calling for: 1. An immediate one-year moratorium on earmarks.2. Congress to pass a permanent legislative or Constitutional solution that bans earmarks, and 3. Presidential and Congressional candidates to pledge to support the one-year moratorium as well as the permanent ban.It would be difficult to find a more self-serving and corruptive practice than earmarks. That’s why I am asking all members of our team to join with me right now to help bring earmarks to an end. That is the end of the letter. Here is Kay Zwerling: Several weeks ago, KSCO devoted the two-hour Saturday Special to discuss Ron Paul. I called his honest appraisal a breath of fresh air, but alas the powers that be in our Country refuse to take his message seriously. But, I suspect that Ron Paul opened a door which will not close ? it may take four years or longer, but finally he will be taken seriously as a contender for the Presidency. In one place, I must part company with Ron Paul. Those who created our Constitution then may have been justified to think of our nation being isolationists. It’s no longer that simple in this age of nuclear-ism and world Islamic terrorists determined to destroy all who do not embrace the Muslim religion, some of which is many evil beliefs. The following compelling arguments, from the Internet, says it better than I could: Well now, Republicans say ?We have a nominee?. That may very well be, but there was only one clear winner in the confusing GOP nominating contest, and it was not John McCain. The winner was Ron Paul. And, the effects of his win will be felt for years to come. Ron Paul made a classic political mistake. He told the truth. In debate after debate, he pointed at his party, his President, his fellow contenders for the GOP nomination, shouting aloud like the little boy in the proverbial story ?They have no clothes?, and lo and behold we looked and they didn?t. They were all naked.He showed that the conservative movement has lost its way, its moral authority, and its logic. He showed us that we have become a Red team vs. a Blue team. But, that since we have decided that this is a political war and all normal rules are suspended, conservatives can do liberal things to win it. Conservatives can run up big deficits if it helps their side win. They can dole out needless pork known as earmarks if it elects another conservative to Congress. It can to war if it makes their President look like a leader and wins him another term. But, in the process Ron Paul showed us that we have lost our way. We are no longer conservatives. We are fighting for power, not for principles. We have become corrupted by the process, and the only way back is to retrace our steps and find all the things we discarded along the way. Barry Goldwater lit a similar fire with his ?Conscience of a Conservative?. Its truth and arguments were so obvious and so honest that one laughed aloud while reading it. But, Goldwater himself, was doomed to political defeat. And, Ron Paul has no chance to win this election either. One can see that when he first opened his mouth. And yet the words and arguments of Ron Paul are still resonating. They still hang over the election. They are haunting and troubling. They are producing blogs, papers, and books ? and like Goldwater’s revolution, they will one day be very likely to produce their own Ronald Reagan. And, when those heady days happen, a small but hardy band of pioneers, who first had the nerve to join him and start shouting from the street ?They aren?t wearing any clothes? will be able to say that they could see what the Country missed. They were there when history was made.John McCain and his poorly chosen words, of staying in Iraq 100 years, have almost guaranteed that he will be the answer to the trivia question, who was the Republican candidate who lost on the ticket but claimed the first woman and black for the Presidency? Another question may very well be, what other candidate ran that year and launched the movement that has dominated national politics for the last generation? ? and that answer will be Ron Paul. Here is Kay Zwerling: Why the Fairness Doctrine is Anything but Fair Legislation currently is before Congress that would reinstate Federal Communications Policy known outright as the Fairness Doctrine. It is being sponsored in both the Senate and the House by the Democrats who are determined to resurrect this foolish and unfair law. It would codify a 1949 FCC regulation that once required broadcasters to afford reasonable opportunity for the discussion of conflicting views of public importance. The Fairness Doctrine was overturned by the FCC in 1987. The FCC discarded the rule because, contrary to its purpose, it failed to encourage the discussion of more controversial issues. The American Left is totally comfortable with the current politically unbalanced liberal media, that is, the print media and much of the radio and TV media excepting for Fox news. Newspapers, magazines, and TV like ABC, NBC, CBS, and CNN deal primarily with concerns and opinions of the Democrats and omit opinions and issues of concern to the Republicans. The Democrats are uncomfortable with successful radio news talk programs, like Rush Limbaugh’s, and numerous other conservative radio talk hosts, and radio is primarily the one media outlet which the conservatives have. The liberals failed in radio because they whined and complained about everything, and never presented solutions. Their conversation was toxic. The only way the Fairness Doctrine could be fair would be if the conservatives would also be given the right to respond in print to newspaper stories, and radio and TV responses to liberal news interpretations. But that will never happen. Clearly, the Democrats want to reinstate the Fairness Doctrine so that they can control any opposition from the conservatives, by receiving equal time on all conservative programs. One wonders why the liberals are always threatened by different points of view. Can it be that their opinions are often impractical, illogical, or are unable to withstand scrutiny? It is rightfully argued that the Fairness Doctrine can interfere with the First Amendment. And, my hope is that despite the Democrat’s desire to reinstate the Fairness Doctrine, this one-sided politically conceived law will be voted down because it is unfair. Oprah asked her what she thought of growing older, and there on television she said ?It was exciting. Regarding body changes, she said there were many occurring everyday, like her breasts, they seem to be in a race to see which will reach waist first. The audience laughed so hard, they cried. She’s such a simple and honest woman with so much wisdom in her words. Maya Angelou said this ? I?ve learned that no matter what happens, or how bad it seems to day, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow. I?ve learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he or she handles these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights. I?ve learned that regardless of your relationship with your parents you?ll miss them when they?re gone from your life. I?ve also learned that making a living is not the same thing as making a life. I?ve learned that life sometimes give you a second chance. I recently received a second chance, and I wish to take this opportunity to thank all my listeners who prayed for my recovery. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Back to Maya ? I?ve learned that you shouldn?t go through life with a catcher’s mitt on both hands. You need to be able to throw some things back. I?ve learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision. I?ve learned that even when I have pains, I don?t have to be one. I?ve learned that every day you should reach out and touch someone. People love a warm hug or just a friendly pat on the back. I?ve learned that I still have a lot to learn. I?ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel. And, now it’s time for a little levity ? What do retired people do in their spare time? Well, the other day, I went downtown and into a shop. I was there for only about five minutes, and when I came out there was a cop writing out a parking ticket. I said to him ?Come on man, how about giving a retired person a break?? He ignored me and continued writing the ticket. I called him a Nazi. He glared at me and wrote another ticket for having worn tires, so I called him a donut eating gestapo. He finished the second ticket and went on, put it on the windshield with the first. Then, he wrote a third ticket. This went on for about 30 minutes. The more I abused him, the more tickets he wrote. Personally, I didn?t care. I came downtown on the bus, and the car that he was putting the tickets on had a bumper sticker that said ?Hillary in ?08 . For some time a primary irritation of mine has been the arrogant and stupid edict created by liberal extremists who about 25 years ago ordained that we all should abide by their rules of social behavior which they decided to call political correctness. I never bought into that rigid humorless nonsense. And now most of us who think with logic and not with liberal selective feelings can see the destructive havoc political correctness has created. Much of the damage has been to our children many of whom are adults who are spoiled bewildered and dependent – the ones I have said were cheated out of having any parameters.

And now the religious aspect of political correctness. When Minister Joe Wright was asked to open the new session of the Kansas Senate everyone was expecting the usual generalities but this is what they heard:

“Heavenly Father we come before You today to ask Your forgiveness and to seek Your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says ‘Woe to those who call evil good’ but that’s exactly what we have done. We’ve lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We confess that we have ridiculed absolute truth of Your Word and call it pluralism. We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery. We have rewarded laziness and called it Welfare. We have killed our unborn and called it choice. We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable. We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self-esteem. We have abused power and called it politics. We have coveted our neighbors’ possessions and called it ambition. We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression. We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment. Search us O God and know our hearts today and cleanse us from every sin and set us free. Amen.”

The response was immediate. A number of legislators walked out during the prayer in protest. In six short weeks Central Christian Church where Reverend Wright is Pastor logged more than 5 000 phone calls with only 47 of those calls responding negatively. The church is now receiving international requests for copies of this prayer from India Africa and Korea. If possible please pass this prayer on to your friends. If you don’t stand for something you will fall for everything.
