(08:17) SALINAS – Salinas police engaged in a standoff with a suicidal man Monday night. Officers were dispatched to the cemetery on the 2100 block of North Main Street following a report of an at-risk man. The 24-year-old was found behind the church, holding a knife to his throat. A crisis team negotiated with the man for an hour before he surrendered. He was transported to the hospital for evaluation. The same man engaged police in a similar standoff in the same location in June of last year. (S.G)
