(9:00) SACRAMENTO – A bill aiming to help terminally ill patients was passed by the California Senate yesterday. The right-to-die bill would give individuals suffering from a terminal illness the right to end their life with the care of a doctor. The law would require two physicians to verify the mental capacity of the patient and would only apply to California residents. Some are opposed to the bill for moral or religious reasons. The bill now heads to the Assembly. (M.K.)
