(12:34) WATSONVILLE – For the first time, two people were named Farmer of the Year at the 98th annual Santa Cruz County Farm Bureau’s dinner on Friday. Belle Farms owner Marguerite Remde and Valencia Creek Farms owner Chris Banthien were presented with the award for being active in the farming community. The bureau also celebrated the drought resistant olive tree and California Secretary of Natural Resources, John Laird spoke about California’s water future. (P.S.)
