(13:17) MONTEREY – The identity of the homeless man that was murdered in Monterey last week has been released. 40-year-old Scott Long — who had lived in Monterey County for about ten years — was found fatally stabbed near the Monterey Public Library just after midnight last Friday morning. According to Police, the stabbing resulted from a fight between homeless people that were getting ready to go to sleep in the area behind the Library. A 22-year-old man was also stabbed during the incident, but his injuries were not considered life threatening. Police arrested the suspected killer 32-year old Jesse Quiming Friday night, after he was spotted near Highway 1 and Ocean Avenue. He was booked into Monterey county jail with bail set at $1.5 million. (P.S.)
