(21:11) SALINAS – If a planned environmental impact report comes back ok, county leaders want to demolish the 70 year-old Monterey County Jail on West Alisal Street in Salinas. However, members of the Alliance Of Monterey Area Preservationists say the building should just be restored, because it’s on the National Register Of Historic Places. If county leaders have their way, the site will be turned into a commemorative park.
