(10:30) APTOS – The Aptos and La Selva Fire Districts will be merging their fire prevention staffs. Both Boards of Directors approved a three year plan to merging their fire prevention operations in an effort to save money and combine services. Under the plan both districts will share a fire marshal and deputy marshal, there will be two new Fire Inspectors and a Public Education Specialist. This program is a continuation of a pilot program that began a year ago. (M.K.)
