(09:10) Salinas – A suspect running from police was hit and killed while trying to cross Highway 101 last night. Salinas Police reported that they spotted two men in a stolen vehicle at 6:30 p.m. on the 100 block on Laurel Drive. After a short car chase, the two men abandoned the car and started running. The driver was struck by a pickup truck as he tried to cross Highway 101. Officers chased the passenger to the 100 block of Monroe Street, where he got away. CHP reported that all lanes of Northbound Highway 101 reopened just before 10:00 last night.
