(09:49) SALINAS – A man is being sought in connection with an attempted armed robbery in Salinas. The incident took place Saturday at Tapia Sports on North Sanborn Avenue. Authorities say the robber entered the business shortly after 3:30 p.m., held an employee at gunpoint and demanded money. The robber fled the scene after the victim pushed him away from the cash register. He was seen crossing East Laurel Avenue and slipping through a fence near Acosta Plaza. The robber has been described as a Hispanic male, around 19 years old, 5-foot-9 and about 170 pounds. (S.G.)
