(11:00) MONTEREY – The Community foundation for Monterey County will be holding information sessions for people who are applying for the organization’s Community impact grants. The organization will be offering grants for community building activities, cultural experiences, and environmental education. Informational sessions on how to apply for the grants will be held this Wednesday in Greenfield, and in Monterey on Thursday. There will also be sessions next week in Monterey and Salinas. The deadline to apply for the grants is August 7. Last year the organization gave over $11 million in grants to more than 400 nonprofit organizations.
