June 13, 2016: One Injured, One Arrested in Salinas Hit and Run

(06:20) SALINAS – A man was arrested in Salinas Saturday night on suspicion of DUI and felony hit and run. Officials say a 61-year-old pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Bardin and Williams roads around 9 p.m. The driver then fled the scene. The victim was transported to the hospital with several broken bones and head injuries. He is currently listed in stable but critical condition. Following an investigation, officers located the suspect vehicle on the 1500 block of Del Monte Avenue. The car’s driver, 45-year-old Felipe Franco, was found exhibiting signs of alcohol intoxication. Franco was apprehended and was booked into Monterey County Jail. (S.G.)
