(11:50) SALINAS- Monterey County Elections is in the official election canvass process. The canvass is a 30 day period required by law to conduct a full accounting and tabulation of all ballots cast in the election. The ballots cast include provisional ballots and vote-by-mail ballots delivered on Election Day or received within the three days after the election with a postmark on Election Day. As of Thursday the estimated number of ballots to be processed was nearly 32 thousand ballots. The next updated election count will be published by close of business today (Mnday).
