(21:54) SANTA CRUZ– The Santa Cruz County Coroner has ruled that popular local surfer and community activist 44 year old Shawn “Barney” Barron’s death was heart failure facilitated by acute and chronic methamphetamine use. At the time of his death Barron did have a non lethal amount of meth in his system. Family members insist Barron was not an addict but suffered from a family heart problem that killed his grandfather and great grandfather in their early forties.
