(07:34) SANTA CRUZ – UC Santa Cruz officials have announced that they have offered admission to over 22,000 California freshmen for its fall 2016 class, as part of a systemwide effort to increase access to students within the state. UCSC has accepted around 4,700 California applicants, which is a 27 percent increase from last year. The campus has also offered admission to 2,700 high school students from other states and 3,600 freshmen from outside the U.S. in an effort to enroll a class that demonstrates ethnic and geographic diversity.
