(17:58) CALIFORNIA – In the final month of the mandatory water conservation, Californians beat their water saving target once again. In May, residential water use was down 28 percent. About 80 percent of the state is still considered to be in a drought, even though winter rains did help. Starting in June, water districts that can show that they have enough water to get through another 3 years of drought, are being allowed to escape the mandatory conservation orders.
