(06:39) SANTA CRUZ – The Santa Cruz Police Department has released a statistical overview of the 4th of July weekend, revealing an overall decrease in calls for service and citations compared to last year. On the 4th, officers responded to nearly 150 calls for service, down from almost 600 last year. Around 40 citations were issued for fireworks and alcohol-related violations compared to 130 in 2015. Police also arrested 76 people and seized around 70 pounds of fireworks. (S.G.)
