(10:30) CALIFORNIA – California water suppliers saw a large drop in water use in June. The State Water Resources Control Board says residents decreased their water consumption by 27 percent last month. Data shows that over half of local water agencies hit or almost reached the 25 percent conservation target set by Governor Jerry Brown. Regulators also issued more fines for water wasters in June, handing out nearly 10,000 penalties compared to around 2,000 the month before. (S.G.)
