(10:39) SANTA CRUZ COUNTY – The teenager accused of murdering Madyson Middleton made his first appearance in Santa Cruz County Superior Court Thursday morning. 15-year-old Adrian Jerry Gonzalez has been charged with murder, kidnapping, sexual assault and related offenses. He will be charged as an adult and faces life in prison if convicted. He is due back in court September 21 to set a date for his preliminary hearing. (S.G.)
