(7:30) SALINAS -The U.S. Department of Justice Community Oriented Policing Services held a meeting Thursday night in Salinas. At the meeting, Over 50 community members WERE ENCOURAGED TO VOICE OPINIONS REGARDING THE Police Department. Input from the community is a necessary part of the D O J assessment of the Salinas Police Department. A top community concern at the meeting was racial profiling by police. The D O J PLANS to RELEASE part 1 of the report by the end of the year.
