(Updated at 08:43) – Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Deputies have made a second arrest in connection with a road rage incident on Highway 1 this week. On Monday, 36-year-old Steven Corey of Sacramento allegedly opened fire on a vehicle near San Andreas Road in Watsonville. No one was injured. Corey was located and arrested at Manresa Beach shortly after. A gun was not found at the time of his arrest. Yesterday, Corey’s vehicle was seen being driven by his girlfriend, 36-year-old Catherine Gleave. Deputies pulled Gleave over and a search of the car recovered a firearm officials believe may have been used in the shooting. She was arrested for possessing a loaded gun in a vehicle and being an accessory to a crime.

The man and child inside the car were uninjured. Law enforcement officers located Corey at Manresa Beach shortly after. Deputies found that the suspect had his girlfriend and 4-year-old daughter inside the car with him during the shooting. The child was placed into protective custody. Corey was apprehended and booked into county jail. (S.G.)
