(10:32) CALIFORNIA – Central Coast residents are being warned to not leave their dogs in parked cars during the summer months. On a 78 degree day, the temperature inside a parked car can exceed 100 degrees in a matter of minutes, even if the car is in the shade or the windows are cracked. Animals exposed to high temperatures may suffer brain damage or die from heatstroke or suffocation. Anyone who sees a distressed animal in a parked car on a hot day is urged to contact Animal Services. (S.G.)
