(12:55)SALINAS- A Los Angles man was convicted of the 2013 robbery of a Carmel jewelry store last week. On Thursday, 55 year James Johnson pled guilty, in a Salinas Courtroom, to robbing Hesselbein’s Jewelers of more than a million dollars worth of merchandise. Johnson and an accomplice entered the business posing as utility workers investigating a gas leak, they then bound employees and customers with duct tape, at gunpoint. The crime went unsolved until investigators were able to match DNA on the duct tape to Johnson. He is facing up to 25 years in prison at sentencing on September 29th.
