(07:22) SANTA CRUZ – A complaint has been filed against a Santa Cruz doctor, alleging that he overprescribed addictive painkillers. Doctor William Ebert, who works at Palo Alto Medical Center in Santa Cruz, has been accused of prescribing excessive quantities of opioids to three patients and failing to keep adequate records. The 14-page complaint calls on the state medical board to look into the allegations. If Ebert is found responsible for negligent overprescribing, the board could revoke or suspend the doctor’s license or put him on probation. (S.G.)
