(08:04) CASTROVILLE – Monterey County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted an operation in Castroville this week to crack down on criminal gang activity. The Sheriff’s Office launched the operation following a gang-related incident that occurred in the city over the 4th of July weekend. During a three-day enforcement period, deputies arrested eighteen individuals who were either gang members or associates. Law enforcement officers also recovered various types of narcotics, stolen property, and illegal weapons. (S.G.)
