(11:50) SALINAS- New data from the U.S. Geological Survey, suggests an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.7 higher could happen anytime on the Central Coast or San Francisco Bay region. The study says the San Francisco Bay region shows a 72 percent chance of a Loma Prieta magnitude or greater quake in the next 30 years. The San Andreas fault, which runs through the Central Coast is the area’s dangerous fault, has a 22 percent chance of rupturing and producing an earthquake, The San Gregorio fault, which runs through the Monterey Bay also is listed with a six percent chance of causing an earthquake.
