SANTA CRUZ (5:25) – Police are investigating the death of two people in a Santa Cruz apartment. Officers responded to a call about a welfare check on the 100 block of Chestnut Street. Upon arrival a resident of the apartment voiced concern about a man and a woman that had be locked inside a room in the apartment for an extended period of time. Officers discovered a 35 year old man and a 23 year old woman both deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. (C.G.)
