(0755) Salinas – A young man died while protecting his friends at a New Years Eve party in Salinas. The incident took place on the 13000 block of Arthur Street just after midnight on January 1st. 21 year-old Christian Rosales was leaving party with friends when they were approached by a man who attempted to rob them at gun point. In an effort to protect his friends Rosales tried to over power the gunman and was shot in the stomach. No arrests have been made at this time.
