(06:01) WATSONVILLE – No one was injured in a shooting in Watsonville early this morning. The 1:30 incident took place on the 21-hundred block of Freedom Boulevard. The 3 suspects allegedly involved were spotted by Watsonvile police officers a short time later. When contacted, one of them ran, but was caught and arrested. 23 year-old Edwin Hernandez-Garcia, a self-admitted Sureno Gang member, was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail. He faces possible charges of:
possession of a loaded and unregistered firearm,
gang enhancement,
resisting arrest,
false identification to a peace officer,
and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He also had two outstanding local warrants.
