(08:45) Monterey County – The Boys and Girls Club of Monterey County hosted their annual Crossroads Gang Prevention Summit over the weekend. The event brought in more than 250 kids. The children learned how to make positive choices and heard from speakers who can relate to the pressures of joining a gang. A recent city report shows that in the last 3 years, 85% of homicides in Salinas were gang related. And for the third time in the past 4 years, Monterey County has had the highest youth homicide rate in California.
