(12:26) SANTA CRUZ- The Santa Cruz District Attorney’s office announced that a settlement has been reached with Mondelēz International, Inc. The settlement with the company formerly known as Kraft Foods stems from selling ginger snap cookies in excess of California lead limits without a warning in 2013 initiating a California Environmental Health investigation into high lead levels in products containing ginger. The company has agreed to fund independent auditing of its products, better labeling, and to pay punitive damages to the 10 communities involved in the litigation.
