(17:33) WATSONVILLE- A gas line rupture caused the evacuation of a day care center in Watsonville on Friday. Emergency crews closed East Lake Avenue and Casserly Road shortly before 1 p.m. after construction workers struck a natural gas line on the 2600 block of East Lake Avenue. Authorities evacuated 21 children and five employees at a day care center located on the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds. P-G & E crews repaired the damage shortly before 5:30 p.m. No injuries were reported.
