(12:41) BIG SUR COAST – A 6-mile portion of Highway 1 was closed late Friday. That was because of a mudslide near Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park. 1-way traffic control is now in effect in that area while a county roads crew works to clear the coastal highway. The California Highway Patrol recommends that people check the status of Highway 1 in the Big Sur area (before attempting to drive it for the next few days).
