3rd party investigators have been hired by seaside Police Chief Abdul Pridgen, and now he’s requested $25,000 from the city to fund 2 investigations. The 3rd party was hired because Chief Pridgen says his department doesn’t have the staffing to accomplish those internal investigations….and having a 3rd party do them means there can’t be any ‘conflict of interest’ issues either. The Seaside City Clerk has noted that it’s not unusual to hire 3rd party investigators, and the department is requesting the money from city coffers, because the department has less than $9,000 budgeted for “consultants”, and these investigations are expected to cost more than that.
