State officials announced yesterday that another 200,000 homes have been added to a program that prevents insurance companies from dropping customers’ coverage in wildfire areas. This means more than a million homes are now protected by the one-year ban.
To be covered, people must live in or next to the perimeter of one of 16 fires that burned in October.
