(16:04) SALINAS- An inmate serving 42 years for homicide received an additional 40 years for assaulting a Monterey County jail deputy. 28 year old Armando Garza Canchola was one of several inmates convicted of attacking a deputy in a recreation area of the jail in May of 2014. The assault took place while Canchola was awaiting sentencing for homicides committed in 2008 and 2010. He will be eligible for parole after serving 82 years behind bars.
