More  than  80  inmates  in  Monterey  County Jail  have  tested  positive  for  Covid-19.   Because  of  an  outbreak  in a  long-term  housing  unit,  all  inmate s are  now  slated  to  be  tested  for  Covid-19.   Local community groups, including M.I.L.P.A., have called on the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office to begin releasing those particularly  vulnerable to the 2019  coronavirus, which has hit older people, those with immune system disorders and pre-existing heart and lung conditions, especially hard.
