I am beyond delighted that Dr. Bill will remain on the air. The fact that my local station, KSCO, is his soapbox is a nice bonus. Dr. Bill is global treasure! I cannot say enough about man. As for the business decisions of KGO, whomever singed off on them gets an "F" for lack of finesse. The repeated pullings of the guillotine rope could've been done so much more graciously and discreetly. This inept bumbler has needlessly alienated so many, to the long-term detriment of KGO's bottom line. I want to know who is the person who singed off on the mass execution at KGO? What is his/her name? I want a name, not a press release. This person needs to feel some heat for the clumsy amateurish handling of this sea change. Someone, please give me a name. This person needs to know that they dropped the ball, and is not very good at his/her job. They need to have fired at them the slings and arrows of the audience.

Growing up in Southern Oregon in the late 1950s, I happened across KGO's night time signal and heard my first "talk radio" with Les Crane broadcasting from the Hungry Eye on KGO. Then there was Ira Blue and a succession of great talk hosts ending with Dr. Bill Wattenburg. It was an awful shock this week to hear that KGO had switched formats -- an Arbitron based decision that probably took no notice of the thousands of loyal listeners living outside the Bay Area, and throughout the Western States. Surely we had some value to KGO's advertisers, since so many of us bought their products and services. Well KGOs loss is KSCOs gain. Thanks to KSCO, we will continue to listen to Dr. Bill on the internet !
